QR Ordering lets customers scan a printed QR code at your counter or table, browse your menu on their phone, and submit an order that pops up on your POS. They still pay at the counter (no online payment), but it speeds up ordering for walk-ins and reduces mistakes from handwritten chits.
Before you start
- Your branch has a branch code set (e.g. SARANAY) โ check Settings โ Branches
- You've added your products with sizes, prices, and ideally images
- You have a printer (home or shop) that can print a QR image
What customers see
When a customer scans the QR, their phone opens app.amaripos.com/order/YOUR-CODE โ a mobile-optimized menu page branded with your logo and colors. They can:
- Browse products by category (tabs at the top)
- Tap a product to see sizes, flavors, add-ons
- Add items to a cart
- Enter their name
- Choose a payment method (Cash or GCash โ it's just a label, no online payment)
- Submit the order
After submitting, the customer sees a status screen with a big reminder to proceed to the counter to pay, plus a live order tracker that updates as your staff moves it through preparing โ ready โ completed.
How to set up QR Ordering
Go to Settings โ QR Ordering
From the sidebar, tap Settings, then QR Ordering.
Preview the QR code
Amari auto-generates a QR using your branch code. You'll see a rendered preview on the page with your brand colors. It's ready to use as soon as your setup checklist is complete.
QR is gated on setup
Until you finish the setup checklist (add products, invite team, connect printer, etc.), QR ordering stays locked and you'll see a "Complete Setup First" screen instead of the QR. This is to prevent customers from scanning an empty menu.
Copy the ordering link (optional)
Below the QR, there's a read-only field with the full ordering URL (e.g. https://app.amaripos.com/order/SARANAY). Tap Copy to put it on your clipboard. Use this for messaging apps โ you can send the link directly via Viber, Messenger, or SMS.
Download the branded QR
Tap Download QR Code. Amari generates a high-resolution PNG that includes:
- Your branch logo at the top
- "ORDER NOW" text
- The QR code itself (with your brand colors)
- Your branch name at the bottom
The image is ready to print on A4, A5, table tents, or even business cards.
Print and post it
Print the PNG at your shop or a nearby print shop. Lamination is recommended for high-traffic counters. Post it:
- At the counter, eye-level, facing the customer
- On table tents if you have seating
- On your storefront window (customers can scan before walking in)
- Inside the POS area so staff can show customers who don't see it
Handling QR orders on the POS
When a customer submits an order via QR, it shows up on the POS page's Orders button with a red badge. Tap the button to see the order, then tap Accept to automatically load all items into the cart. Your cashier processes it like any normal sale โ take payment, print receipt, done.
The Orders panel also pings with a short beep when a new order arrives so staff notice even if they're not staring at the screen. See the "Handling QR orders on the POS" article for the full flow.
Tips
- Pre-order while waiting in line โ encourage customers to scan and submit while they're still in the queue; when they reach the counter, their order is ready to charge
- Table ordering โ if you have seating, put a QR on each table so customers never get up
- Social media โ post the ordering link on your Facebook page and Instagram bio so customers can order before visiting
- Check the preview โ tap the external-link icon next to the URL to open the customer view in your own browser. Make sure everything looks right before printing the QR.
QR orders don't accept online payment
Customers still have to pay at the counter. This is intentional โ integrating online payment would mean handling disputes, chargebacks, and processor fees. For now, QR is for speeding up order entry, not collecting payment remotely.
